SLAM-DUNKING Rio Oakey is jumping into competitive action with a plum international showdown against Northern Ireland next year.
Under-12s power forward Rio Oakley has been selected to represent Wales after trials at at the Elite National Development Centre came to fruition.
His country will take on the Irish in a three-match test series in May 2016.
Rio was previously selected for the under-11s' national team in 2014, where he featured in an international festival in Surrey, with a highlight playing two games against Scotland.
Rio trains with the club at Bishop Wordsworth's School and is preparing to play for Salisbury in the under-14s Solent Junior League this season.
