A MID-TABLE scrap ended honours even between Bemerton Heath Harlequins and Lymington Town.

Bemerton shut out Saturday's FA Vase exit to Andover Town with a solid point following a 1-1 draw at Western Way on Tuesday night.

On 20 minutes Bemerton took a deserved lead when Russell Cook beat the offside trap to lob the oncoming keeper.

Lymington began to grow to into the game and won a succession of corners.

Then in the last minute of the first half a cross evaded everyone in the box and Darren Ritchie was on hand to knock home the leveller.

The two best chances of the second 45 minutes fell to Graham Mankin who forced the keeper into making great stops.

Manager Graham Kemp said: "It was much better performance but, in my opinion, it's two points dropped. We played some decent football and if it wasn't for their keeper we would've won the game."
