SWIMMERS are being challenged by one charity to cover the length of the English Channel.
Diabetes UK is urging people to swim 22 miles in their local swimming pool over the space of three months.
The Swim22 Challenge can be spilt between family members, friends, colleagues or partners.
Fundraiser Mark Howlett said: "Money raised through sponsorship will help us fund research into diabetes, campaign on key issues, and offer education and support to more of the 3.5 million people in the UK who are diagnosed with the condition - and also the 549,000 people who have Type 2 diabetes but have not yet been diagnosed."
The event takes place on Monday, February 22.
