A PACKED schedule will mark the 40th anniversary of Wilton Horse Trials this summer.

A whole host of top riders will compete in the event on the weekend of July 30 and 31.

Like in previous years at Wilton House, there will be the usual novice and intermediate classes.

And, for the first time in its history, a BE100 course has been added, which organiser Anthony Ffooks says is a dream come true.

He said: "I've been asked for many years for a BE100 course as many riders would like to compete at Wilton but felt that they would never reach novice.

"The course will follow a similar route to the novice and intermediate but will miss the steps and big drop but they will still go through the 'mermaid/turtle' water."

Whitehead Vizard has agreed to to sponsor the event for the tenth year.
