WILTSHIRE retained the Marlborough Cup after beating Berkshire at Corsham on Sunday by 37 runs.

Wiltshire batted first and scored 235 for eight wickets in their 50 overs.

Former South Wilts skipper Tom Morton led the way with 69.

Wiltshire looked as if they might fall short of a par score at 182 for eight wickets but an unbroken stand of 53 for the ninth wicket between Ashur Morrison (43 not out) and Jake Roberts (32 not out) took them to a competitive score.

In reply, Berkshire lost four early wickets but rallied with James Morris scoring 59 and Euan Woods 62 but were all out for 198 with five overs remaining.

Jake Roberts took 3 for 52, Andy Carroll 2 for 17 and Jake Lintott 2 for 45.

Wiltshire face Hertfordshire in their first group match in the Unicorns Knock Out Trophy at Warminster on Sunday, May 1 (11am).
