FOURTH place was snapped up by Fordingbridge.

The Recreation Ground outfit finished their Snows Hampshire One campaign with back-to-back victories, seeing off Farnborough 32-19.

In a game of entertaining rugby, the visitors dominated the first half with good attacking rugby and stout defence, something that was letting them down earlier in the season. Tries from Mark Hammond, Matthew Norton, Mat Maynard and Jordan Donaldson saw the visitors race into a 22-0 lead at half time.

As the second half got underway, Farnborough intercepted a pass on their 22 and ran the ball home under the posts to register their first seen pointer of the day. This did not deter Fordingbridge, who responded almost immediately when Maynard scored his second of the day.

In a determined and well structured forward display from a lineout on the visitors' five-metre line, ‘Boro pushed Fordingbridge over the white wash to push the score to 27-12. In a see-saw half, Peter Scott ran in the last of the visitors tries in the corner and with five minutes to go the match was won.

There was one final twist in the tale when, in an almost exact copy of their first try, Farnborough intercepted a pass deep in their half and ran it through under the posts. The match finished at 32-19.

Captain Steve Brown says "it has been a mixed season but that he was proud of the effort that everyone had made especially the way they had rallied at the end of the season to finish in the top third of the table".
