FORMER South Wilts run gun Tom Morton has blasted his way into the ECB Middlesex County Premier League record books in only his second match for Ealing, where he took up an appointment as Director of Cricket last month.

He hit a league record 232 out of Ealing's towering 363-7 against Teddington, spraying the leafy Bushy Park boundary with seven sixes and 26 fours.

It was just as well that Morton did make a double-century because Teddington responded with 330-9, leaving Ealing relatively narrow 33-run winners.

It was a career-best for Morton, the former South Wilts captain having made 205 against Warminster in the ECB Royal London national club championships in 2014.
