TRACK athletes steered City of Salisbury into second in Southern League Division 3 South West after a sparkling performance at Aldershot.

The city club's members proved top competition for leaders Windsor, Slough and Eton as well as host team Aldershot.

Megan Price, too, responded positively to the pressure, notching up three successive personal bests in the long jump with 4.45m, 9.29m in the triple jump and the 400m in 64.9sec.

Not to be outdone, Jasmine Thayer also improved at 1500m with 4min 54.1sec and 15 year-old Lucy Smith continued her upward trend with 2min 52.6sec in the 800m, while Tasha Mundell won the B string 2000m steeplechase in a pb of 9min 15sec.

The outstanding Andy Holme won the 2000m steeplechase in 7min 21.8sec having already clocked a pb 70.0sec in the 400m hurdles and 18min 9.9sec in the 5k.
