HORDES of party-goers got glammed up for a fine evening of racing at Salisbury's flagship event.

Ladies' Day attracted 6,000 plus racegoers which had seven races and gave away a number of prizes from best dressed women to best hat and best shoes.

The fixture got under way with Andrew Balding extending his lead at the top of the Salisbury trainer standings for 2016 as the high class Isomer justified the prohibitive odds of 1/5 in the Bathwick Tyres British Stallion Studs EBF Maiden Stakes.

Isomer's opening win was the first of three consecutive winning favourites on the card as Clive Cox's Inclination and Amanda Perrett's You're Hired kept the trend rolling in the Oakwoods Handicap and the Cara Glass Maiden, respectively.

The Rodney Boult Memorial Handicap was won in a photo finish by Charles Hills' Alnashama for the powerful Hamdam Al Maktoum ownership before Salisbury stalwart Sunny Future brought the house down by winning at Salisbury for the sixth time in his career under Martin Dwyer.

Midnight Mood was another big priced winner in The Party Continues at the Chapel Nightclub Handicap Stakes before the card was rounded out by arguably the most impressive performance of the season at Salisbury to date from Roger Varian's Sharja Queen.

Stand-in jockey Jack Mitchell hit the front aboard Sharjah Queen two furlongs from home and powered his mount clear landing the feature EBF Stallions Breeding Winners Ladies' Evening Fillies' Handicap Stakes.

Off the track, the best dressed winner was Shirley Geary, runner-up Janet Green, most exotic outfit Christine Holmes, best hat Amy Money and best shoes Joanna Rideout.
