GODSHILL made short work of their home match with Exbury as a half-century from Tom Cranmer set up their seven-wicket victory after the visitors had been bowled out for 136.

The Cornwalls, Adam (45) and brother Scott (36), put on 55 for Exbury’s second wicket and they looked set for a good score at 80-1 before they lost nine wickets for 56 runs to Matt Robb (4-24), Jason Cooper (2-26) and Jon Bayliss (2-35) as they folded in the 38th over.

Unusually Godshill’s skipper Alan Cousins went cheaply but Cranmer (56 no) led the scoring alongside Tim Beer (39) and Cooper (16) as they won in the 26th over.

Lowly East Christchurch struggled to 108 off 37 overs as wickets fell to Henry Gilbert (3-23) and Steve Osborne (2-30) and, after Hacon Edgley (36) and Simon White (11) put on 42 for the first wicket, Gilbert (26 no) set up Damerham’s seven-wicket victory in 23 overs.

Hyde recorded their ninth defeat when they lost to Parley 3rds by 72 runs after Isaac Beaglehole hit 86 in their 208-9 despite some fine bowling from Ben Daniels (5-42). Will Hayward (41) led the Hyde reply but his only support came from Daniels (19) as they were bowled out for 126 in the 40th over with two wickets each for James Miller, Harrison Neary and Jacob Browning.

Breamore did the hard work by dismissing title-chasing Winton for 151 in 40 overs but then their batting let them down and they lost by 24 runs.

Dean Seal (37) and Steve Alam (42) steered Winton to 126-2 but just when they looked ready to post a large total, they lost their last eight wickets for 25 runs to James Fuller (5-53) and Paul Veit (2-32).

Breamore were kept in check by the accurate Winton attack and they found runs hard to come by with only Veit (39) and Steve Marlow (16) making any progress as they were stopped at 127-8.
