DOWNTON racing driver Ollie Pidgley had a solid weekend of racing in the Renault UK Clio Cup at Silverstone.
Having qualified in 10th place for race one, he managed to finish 16th overall, fifth in his class. In his second race he brought the Clio home in tenth place — moving up to third in his class.
Alex Martin was also in action competing in the BTCC for Dextra Racing. He failed to finish the first race but came 20th overall in the second. In the final race he secured 18th place.
Pidgley said: “Overall, I’m happy with the weekend and it’s a good boost ahead of Brands Hatch. I’ve never done a lap on the GP circuit there, so it’ll all be completely new to me.”
