A GROUP of estate agents are swapping sales and lettings for shorts and trainers as the Salisbury Half Marathon returns to the streets after last year's race was cancelled due to low entries.

Property consultancy Myddelton & Major is sponsoring the race on Sunday, October 9 – and a team of runners from the firm will be taking part.

The 19th running of the race, organised by Total Buzz Events, on a new course begins at noon after a Zumba workout from instructor Kirstie Pugh.

Fast times are expected as the new city centre start in New Canal leads to a two-lap, mostly flat course taking in Bemerton, Quidhampton, Netherhampton and Harnham before the finish in Cathedral Close.

A bumper turnout is expected, with the Myddelton & Major team taking part including partners Dean Speer and Peter Sammons, commercial negotiator Murray Waldron, residential lettings administrator Fiona Thatcher and accounts administrator Liz Roberts.

Help for Heroes and Salisbury District Hospital’s Stars Appeal are the event's two partner charities.

Myddelton and Major senior partner Philip Holford said: “I urge runners to get their trainers on and enter the race to get it firmly back on track and hope supporters will turn out in huge numbers to cheer the entrants home on what will be a great day for Salisbury.”
