SALISBURY bounced back from double defeats with a 5-0 victory over Barnstaple Town in Evo-Stik League Division One South and West.

After losing to Slimbridge and North Leigh, Steve Claridge's men put their North Devon visitors to the sword.

Things got off to a super start for the hosts when they were awarded a spot kick midway through the first half.

James Mayne was penalised for handball and Tommy Wright fired his 12th league goal of the campaign.

The home side's lead was doubled just four minutes into the second half when ex-Watford Academy Mahlondo Martin's cross was headed home by skipper Kane O'Keefe.

Justin Bennett then got in on the act with a brace. His first was an excellent solo effort, followed with a second after being set up by Tom Whelan.

Midfield ace Lewis Benson rounded things off moments before the full-time whistle.

Whites move up two places into ninth ahead of their visit to Paulton Rovers tomorrow night (7.45pm) before hosting Chippenham Town in the FA Trophy first qualifying round on Saturday (3pm).

Whites: Salisbury FC: Bass, Colson, Parselle, Whelan, Wheeler, Mundy (Perrett 67), Benson, O'Keefe, Wright (Mehew 63), Bennett, Martin (Rusher 76).
