THE 2016 club champion at High Post Golf Club was presented with his trophy at the annual dinner.
Matt Hobbs, who has a five-handicap, saw off previous club champions Roger Searle, Kerry Roberts and Simon Davis for his first championship win with rounds of 73 and 73.
It has been a fantastic year for Hobbs who also clinched the Handicap Cup and the Morrison Cup (singles handicap knock out).
Adrian Foster was presented with the club's other major trophy – the Dr Lewis D Thornton Trophy – as winner of the singles scratch knock out.
This was one handicapper Foster's fifth win in the event in the last ten years.
