TRICKY winger Taurean Roberts has returned for a second spell at Salisbury FC.

The 26-year-old is back at the Ray Mac until the end of the season following his departure in the summer.

He has spent the past six months at Tooting and Mitcham United, who are top of the Ryman Division One South (step four like Salisbury).

While at the Terrors, based in Merton, Roberts netted eight times.

And he came close to getting on the scoresheet on his Salisbury return on Tuesday night in a dramatic Southern League Challenge Cup 4-3 win over Shortwood United to reach the quarter-finals.

Assistant manager Micky Jenkins said: “I’m delighted to see him back in a Salisbury shirt. He scored some fantastic goals for us last season and was a prominent figure in our FA Vase quarter-final win over Ashford United.”

Roberts, a product of Crystal Palace academy, created some fond memories last year, winning the Sydenhams Wessex Premier title as well as featuring in the club’s historic FA Vase run.

On hearing the midfielder had returned, fans voiced their delight on Facebook.

Ian Shelton wrote “Can be unplayable at times. Good news :)”

Stephen Mackinder: “Great to have him back he caused teams so much trouble last season” and Simon Hudson: “This is good news indeed. Can we please have both Taurean and Claudio on opposite wings playing regular 1st team league games again?”
