TWO late goals saw Laverstock and Ford boost their promotion hopes in Sydenhams Wessex Division One with double wins on the spin.

Graham Mankin and Rob Gallagher netted in the last 10 minutes to seal a 2-0 win at the expense of Andover New Street.

In a scrappy opening 45 minutes, Mankin came closest for the home side but his volley was brilliantly denied by the Andover custodian.

Midway through the second half, the visitors were reduced to ten men when Jamie Smith was shoved to the ground.

And Lavvy reaped the benefits of the numerical advantage as Tom Mundy’s superlative free-kick was met powerfully by Mankin who smashed home a header to make it 1-0.

Gallagher then doubled their lead deep into injury time with a convincing spot kick.

Co-managers Liam McConnell and Robbie Lakeman said: “The win was deserved but we had to work hard, credit to Andover, they came with a game plan and for a long period, it worked.”
