WIMBLEDON star Marcus Willis and Davis Cup player Danny Sapsford took on a team of four tennis players from Salisbury at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

The 24-hour marathon event was run by Sapsford's Bright Ideas for Tennis, which is aimed at raising funds to improve facilities at local tennis clubs.

The Salisbury quartet of James Sinclair, Dale Brock, Lee Burt and Olly Thorne played against Willis, who took on Roger Federer in the second round of last year's tournament, and Sapsford, who played in the Great Britain Davis Cup team.

"It was a wonderful experience to play with, and against, such talented and well-known players, and to raise money for our club at the same time. All the team had a brilliant day and will never forget it," Sinclair said.
