A SOLITARY strike from Jamie White condemned Bemerton Heath Harlequins to a 1-0 home defeat to Blackfield and Langley in Sydenhams Premier Division on Saturday.

The ex-Salisbury striker converted one of his two chances in the 39th minute, taking his goal tally to 36 in 38 games.

Bemerton are in 11th place and have won once in their last five games.

Bemerton boss Graham Kemp, who announced last week he will be standing down next month, said: “A game of few chances was settled when we lost concentration from a set piece.

“Early second half we missed a great chance to equalise, heading over from three yards.

“Never really threatened after that. No more chances either end.”

Amesbury Town were thumped 4-0 by Hamworthy United.

Goals came from Steven Smith, Connor Phillips and Mark Ford.

In Division One, Laverstock were on the wrong end of a nine-goal thriller at home to New Milton Town.
