A BEGINNERS’ course for runners is starting at City of Salisbury Athletics and Running Club.

A How to Run class takes effect next month and will run for 10 weeks.

The aim at the end of the programme is for newcomers to be able to run 5ks, or about three miles.

The walk-to-run initiative will be based at the running track by Five Rivers Leisure Centre. It will be led by qualified leaders from the city’s running club in groups of similar ability.

The first session is on Wednesday, May 3 (6.30pm).

The start date will mean that ladies can then opt to run the 5k Race For Life at Hudson’s Field on Sunday, July 9 and for men there are events of a similar distance.
