SIX Salisbury fans are pushing the pedal for Saturday’s season-closer.
Charlie’s Cycling Circus are cycling 140-miles to see the Whites’ last game of the season at Bideford AFC in Devon.
Claire Bennett, the wife of star striker Justin, Thom Belk, Ross Martin, Liam Haggerty, James Musselwhite, and Stuart Cannell will leave the Ray Mac tomorrow ahead of Saturday’s 3pm kick off.
The ride will take them one and a half days to complete, cycling 100 miles on day one and 40 miles on the second day.
This ride follows the success of their journey in 2014, when they rode 215 miles to Chester FC, raising more than £6,000. The Salisbury fans are cycling in aid of Children with Cancer UK, a charity which helped Charlie Ranger.
They have received plenty of support along the way and Bideford have agreed to have buckets go around the ground for the game. Organiser Cannell spoke to JournalSport and said: “It’s for such a good cause and that’s why we do it to raise the profile of Children with Cancer UK which is so important.”
