SARUM Orienteering Club’s Liz Yeadon has won British Orienteering’s Coach of the Year.

She works with primary schools in Salisbury and South Wiltshire schools to deliver a series of training and competition events. Liz’s enthusiasm and commanding presence ensures the smooth running of these events.

As well as Liz’s success members of the club competed in the JK 2017 Orienteering Festival which was held over the Easter weekend with good performances achieved.

The highlight of the weekend came with the success of the Sarum All Butts team, siblings Lucy, Tom and Harry Butt, from Woodfalls, beat more than 45 teams to come in first place in the Men’s Short Race, winning by just less than two minutes.

Lucy also competed in the W21 sprint race finishing 16th with an overall position in the W21 Elite cross country races of 6th. Other mentions go to Jack Benham, from Redlynch finishing third in the M21L race and dad Nigel taking 6th place in the M55.
