SALISBURY FC came from behind to draw 1-1 against Sky Bet League Two outfit Swindon Town at the Ray Mac on Monday.

Whites’ keeper Nathan Ball saved a third-minute penalty from Swindon’s Harry Smith, but the 6ft 5in forward made amends in the 22nd minute to give the Robins the lead.

Salisbury’s equaliser came from substitute Claudio Herbert, who curled in a great free-kick to earn the Whites a draw against David Flitcroft’s side.

The north Wiltshire outfit started the game well and were gifted a great opportunity to take the lead in the third minute when Donal McDermott was fouled in the box, but Salisbury shot stopper Ball saved the penalty.

Swindon did take the lead, half way through the first half, when James Brophy lofted a cross in from the left to find Smith in the box who headed home.

With half-time approaching the Whites had four great opportunities to level the score.

Marvin Brooks went close with a diving header, then captain Kane O’Keefe’s shot from 25 yards was well saved.

From the resulting corner, Brooks saw his header cannon off the bar.

And then Lewis Benson’s curing free-kick from 25 yards out was also saved.

Ten minutes into the second half and the Whites again could have had an equaliser, but Mark Francis’ header was save by Will Henry in the Swindon goal.

Salisbury got their just rewards on 77 minutes.

Herbert curled a superb free-kick past Henry to earn the Whites a draw, in what has been a busy and hectic few days.
