WILTON driver Matt Hammond claimed three victories at the Brands Hatch in the Mini Festival Cooper PRO / Am Class on Saturday, July 8 and Sunday, July 9.
Hammond qualified in second position just 0.014 off first, but went on to claim his first win of the meet.
In the the second race of the met but had a poor start and was beaten off the line, but managed to pass the leader on lap 10 and didn’t look back taking his second win of the weekend.
The third and final race it was a reverse grid for the first five cars which meant he had to start fifth on the grid.
He moved quickly through the field and put in consistently fast laps driving away from the opposition, eventually winning with a 7.1 second lead.
Along with the three wins Hammond won two fastest laps and the Sunoco driver of the weekend in his class. In doing so, he now tops the Mini Challenge leader board, having had five wins so far, and is in fourth position overall in the Sunoco 240 Challenge Cup.
