LAVERSTOCK and Ford have started the season with a bang, with a good start in the league as well as a 3-0 win over Whitchurch in the FA Cup.

Lavvy have brought in plenty of new faces to the team and joint managers Liam McConnell and Rob Lakeman said it is good to see “the feel good factor return” to Lavvy.

New players include forward Scott Donaldson from Downton, two Andover-based players, midfielder, Max Allen and keeper George Baxter. Midfielder Tyler Brockway joining from Amesbury has been a great signing for the club so far, along with Salisbury FC youngster Chae Sykes.

“For us we had some healing to attend to after such disappointment we suffered in the run in last season,” the joint managers said.

“One of the important things we wanted to achieve was to retain the services of the majority of last season’s side. To see the boys re-sign without hesitation was the tonic we needed, especially with so much talk and hype about other clubs looking to rebuild locally.”

Lavvy scored 12 goals in their opening three games of the season and managers McConnell and Lakeman will be looking to do one better than their sixth place finish last year. But they said the league has gotbetter and said: “This league is tougher and more physical than ever, so we know each week will be a real test.

“But it’s something we are all gearing up for.”

Finally the joint managers said: “We have worked incredibly hard to create a great place to be and with the lads we have gathered, we couldn’t be happier. If we can continue to apply the right attitudes and a togetherness then the football we play will bring results.”
