FLAVIO Tavares has agreed a deal to join Salisbury FC, following a successful trial period with the club during pre-season and the start of the league season.

The winger will be dual registered with Downton, who he has already lined up for this season in there only two defeats of the season against Totton & Eling and Tadley Calleva, but the Whites will have first call on his services.

The 22-year-old scored a hat-trick for the Whites against Chichester City at the beginning of July and featured heavily in the Whites squad throughout pre-season.

Tavares who previously played for Tonbridge Angels and Hayes and Yeading, featured in the Salisbury 2-0 win over AFC Totton on Monday, August 28.

Boss Steve Claridge spoke about the winger and said: "Flavio is a positive player.

"He is a player who we can bring on a put the opposition on the back foot.

"He gives us something a bit different in games."
