SALISBURY Tri club’s Ruth Thom and Stuart Holloway travelled to Cumbria to race the Hellvelyn Triathlon, one of the toughest triathlons in the world.

The race involved a one-mile swim in Ullswater, followed by a 40 -mile bike, which included a two-mile climb up to the top of Kirkstone Pass, then a tough seven-mile run up Hellvelyn.

Stuart was 24th senior male in a time of 3h 53m 20s and Ruth followed with sixth senior female in a time of 4h 27m 50s.

Rob Lush completed the Andover Trail Marathon in 3:59, a fantastic time taking on testing hills and trails over the 26.2 miles.

Matthew Spooner took on Ironman Vichy, in the Auvergne region of France. Completing the 3.8km non wetsuit swim, 112 mile bike and marathon run in an amazing time of 11:48, a fantastic achievement in ver warm conditions.

Bertie Pettit came third in the Inter Regional Championships at Mallory Park. A great podium finish for the youngster. Shown in attached picture.

Pettit, was racing in the Tristar T3 category, so covered a 320m lake swim, 7km bike and a 2.5km run.
