SALISBURY RFC achieved a unique double at the weekend, as two former players of their mini section Mike Brown and Poppy Cleall won the England Player of the Match for England in their respective Six Nation victories over Wales.

Cleall from Alderholt scored twice as the Red Roses beat their Welsh counterparts 52-0 at the Twickenham Stoop, having also scored in the opener against Italy, where she was also named Player of the Match

Flanker Cleall scored England's opening try after just 10 minutes and further scores from Abigail Dow, Leanne Riley and Ellie Kildunne made it 26-0 at the break.

After the interval, Marlie Packer and Rachael Burford both went over and then Cleall scored her second try, before Kildunne wrapped up the scoring.

Later on the same day at Twickenham, full back Brown produced a great performance, as England beat Wales 12-6 with Jonny May scoring twice.

The Red Roses are next in action on Friday 23 February (7.30pm) when they travel to Glasgow to face Scotland.

The following day (4.45pm), the men take on Scotland at Murrayfield.
