SALISBURY FC manager Steve Claridge has added six re-signing and also a new face to his squad for the forthcoming season the club's first in the Southern League Premier Division.

The new signing for the Whites is George Barker, who arrives from Worthing, having played for Havant and Waterlooville and Gosport Borough in recent years.

The 26-year-old was born in Portsmouth and has played at Brighton and Hove Albion, Barnet and Swindon Town.

Talking about his first new addition to this line-up Claridge said: "I am pleased to have signed George, he can play as a left winger, right winger or number 10. He will us competition in those positions which we have been lacking."

The super six returning are Kane O'Keefe, Danny Young, Sam Roberts, Elliot Wheeler, George Colson and Lewis Benson.

The super six played a big part in the Whites promotion campaign with Wheeler making the most league appearances with 40, with Benson (37), Wannell (33) and Young (31) not far behind.

Benson finished second to Stuart Green in the club's golden boot race last term with 15 goals, while O'Keefe was fourth hitting the net 13 times.

This takes to Whites squad to 12, when you add in the five players who were already returning in Aaron Dawson, Jake Wannell, Zach Kotwica, Luke Hopper and Chris Shephard.

Claridge said: "It is good start and we have number of other offers out for players. It is very much a players market at the moment."

Salisbury are hoping to announce their pre-season programme in the near future ahead of the start of their league campaign in August.
