SALISBURY manager Steve Claridge is happy with his mix of pre-season games so far arranged.

The five games so far released will start with the Whites entertaining Wessex League Premier Division side Lymington on July 13 (7.45pm).

They will then face FA Vase winners Thatcham, who were also promoted in the Southern League Division One for this coming campaign. The Berkshire side visit the Ray Mac on July 21 (3pm).

The third home pre-season game is against AFC Bournemouth on July 24 (7.45pm) and then Bognor Regis will be the visitors on July 27 (7.45pm). They will play at the same level as Salisbury next season, but in the Isthmian League.

The only away pre-season game currently pencilled in is to newly promoted Wessex Premier side Christchurch.

Looking at his pre-season so far Claridge said: "We are looking for a couple more games and the idea will be to give all the squad as much time as we can.

"We can ease ourselves in with Lymington, while other games will be more of a test which is what we want. It is not about winning every game, it is about getting the players ready for the season."

There has been a change to teams that Salisbury will face next season in the Southern League Premier South Division, due to Shaw Lane resigning.

Banbury have been moved into the Central Division and Wimborne have been promoted to the South.

Claridge said: "They were one of our promotion rivals last season and we know they have some decent players."
