AMESBURY made it two wins out two in the Wessex League Division One, as they cruised to a 4-0 win over Fawley.

The victory moved them up to second in the table as they maintained their unbeaten start to the campaign.

The home side scored twice either side of the interval with Harry Beckley and Robbie Owen on target in the first 45 minutes.

After the break, the impressive Jordan Matthews scored a brace to seal the win.

New Amesbury manager Dave Coker said: "We were much better all round today, more cohesion as a team and a squad.

"A few injuries meant that we were a bit weaker defensively today. but the lads who stepped in really worked well together.

A special mention should go to captain Jack Vallis and Michael Owen who were both immense in the back four.

Amesbury have no game this weekend, with a League Cup tie away to Horndean next on Tuesday, unless Horndean draw their FA Cup tie on Saturday, which will see the Amesbury postponed for the replay.
