WAYNE Turk had waited a long time for his first Blue Square Premier goal.

But after netting in the 3-1 win at York City the previous week, the Salisbury midfielder made it two in as many games when he headed Whites into the lead at Halifax Town.

"That's what normally happens with me," said the City stalwart.

"I normally start the season slowly and then, once you get one goal, you get more confidence and then two or three come.

"Hopefully it will continue,"

Turk pounced on 57 minutes steering the ball home from Liam Feeney's corner.

The well-worked goal looked as if it was a move rehearsed on the training ground, however Turk was quick to deny any pre-meditated notions.

"I'm not renowned for being good with my head.

"On the training ground I'm dreadful at everything.

"I'm normally that bad at heading I don't even know what I'm doing up there, but I'm glad I saved it for the pitch!

"Liam put in a great ball, I just flicked it on and, luckily enough, it went into the net."

Turk said he believed Whites were good value for a draw at The Shay, ensuring a four point haul from back-to-back trips to Yorkshire.

"Second half I thought they played in the right areas and got the ball behind us a lot.

"It was backs against the wall stuff at times, but Clarkey did well and made a couple of great saves towards the end and I thought we deserved the point.

"If we'd been told before these two journeys that we'd pick up four points out of six I'm sure we'd have taken it."

Turk is naturally, looking forward to Sunday's Blue Square Premier match with league leadersAldershot Town which is being televised live by Setanta TV.

"Aldershot will be another good test for us. Obviously they're flying high at the moment but we're not too bad on telly, so hopefully we'll give them a good game and try and take the three points.

"Fingers crossed we can put on a good performance - especially for the crowd that came today.

"It's a long way for them to come and we appreciate it massively."
