THERE was a tie at the top between Martin Beale and Kirk Wilson in New Forest Cycling Club’s latest evening 10.
Club champion Beale and improving Wilson clocked 24.25 on the Matley loop in windy, cool conditions.
But Beale was back on top form in the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers’ 25 on the testing Gallows Hill course near Wareham on Sunday, when he was fastest of five New Forest CC competitors with 1.00.36.
Wilson was more than three minutes slower with 1.03.53, but claimed the scalp of on-form veteran Terry Jefferies by two slender seconds.
The previous week Aaron Carter and Phil Gates rode a 25 promoted by the same club on the Upton course. Carter was the quicker with 1.00.57 while Gates recorded 1.01.21.
Colin Humm was third fastest New Forest rider in the club 10, clocking a best 24.51.
Nick Williams was next with 25.08, followed by Phil Gates (25.30), improving Phil Glasgow (25.35) and Howard Doe (25.51).
