BEMERTON Heath Harlequins gained four points from the Isle of Wight in four days after a battle of bottom versus top on Tuesday night.

Gareth Bricknall put the bottom club ahead in the first minute, but Kane O’Keefe equalised from the restart.

Lee Davies restored Cowes’ lead with a header in the sixth minute, then Graham Mankin levelled on 20 minutes.

Jack Slade gave ‘Quins the lead for the first time in the 35th minute, converting a retaken penalty after his first was saved.

In the second half, Adam Jones made sure of the points with a rebound after Joe Sanger and O’Keefe had shots blocked.

Promotion rivals Bournemouth Poppies and Poole Town were due to meet on Tuesday but that was postponed due to floodlight failure.

Bemerton go to Fareham Town on Saturday and then Gosport Borough in the Russell Cotes Cup quarter-finals on Monday.
