CHALKE Valley made it through to the final of the Cook Cup with a hard-fought victory over Burgess Trees on Saturday.
Ash Bolger put them ahead with a neat finish after four minutes, but Nick Batt forced in the equaliser ten minutes before the break.
Russ Parsons broke clear and coolly finished to win it with just 30 seconds remaining.
Their opponents in that final, Boscombe Down Rec Club, continued their good run with a 7-1 victory over Alderbury reserves - a warm-up for the Charity B Cup final.
Dave Sage and Chris Young both scored twice, and Danny Rider, Danny Goodall and Tom Brown accounted for the others. It was only 2-1 at half time but Boscombe ran away with it in the second.
In the Premier League, Nomansland & Landford lost 5-1 at home to Deacon Alms.
It was 3-0 at the break, and a couple of defensive slips allowed Deacon to go five up. The home team spurned several chances before James Read hit a cracking 20-yard consolation goal.
Also in the top flight, Porton Sports lost to Alderbury for the second week running.
The visitors deservedly went ahead after 25 minutes. Porton had lots of possession but not many clear-cut chances, the best a 20-yard strike from Matt Lucas coming back off the inside of the post, before Adam Underwood was penalised for handball in the box and Alderbury made it 2-0.
In the second half, the hosts dominated and got back into it when Andy Fung's flicked header flew into the net. They pushed for the equaliser but Alderbury went down the other end and got their second penalty of the game to make it 3-1.
On Sunday, the Royal George lost out to a skilful Cedars outfit by the odd goal in nine.
The hosts went ahead when they broke away from a Cedars corner and Lee Callender played in Timmy Fewins whose pace took him clear and he slotted home with precision.
Andy Shaw threaded it through for Russ Deacon who jinked his way through the defence and dinked in from a tight angle. Cedars came to life and the tricky winger Dan Gevaux slipped past two defenders and squared for Paul Burton to tap in, and Callender had a goal harshly ruled out for offside.
From the resulting free kick, Neal Wynne stabbed in a loose ball to level after a point-blank save by Daryl Beavan, and Wynne was on hand after another Beavan save to make it 3-2 after the break. Fewins kept his composure to play in Callender to make it 3-3.
Gevaux' 30-yard free kick restored Cedars' lead, and Norris sliced in a Gevaux cross for 5-3. Callender nodded in a Mike Penk corner but Royal George could not find an equaliser.
