Whites sign White / two more friendlies announced

SALISBURY City have announced the arrival of Winchester City's goal machine Jamie White.

The 22-year-old scored 51 goals in 32 Wessex League games last term, helping City into the Southern League.

He started his career at Southampton, where he made three senior appearances. Two serious injuries hampered his progress at Saints. White had loan spells at Shrewsbury Town and Eastleigh before joining the latter.

Then came the move to Winchester, via a short stop at Totton & Eling, where his form attracted the interest of bigger clubs.

Manager Darrell Clarke said: “Jamie has naturally been the target of many clubs, and I am absolutely delighted that we have beaten off the competition and he has committed to us.

"This close season has been a difficult one in relation to signings but I am aware that we need to strengthen further."

The Whites have announced away friendlies at Hamworthy United on Tuesday, July 10 and AFC Totton on Tuesday, August 7.
