CITY of Salisbury roadrunners closed their 2014 racing account with the Portsmouth coastal waterside marathon where gale-force winds made conditions tough.
On the day, the club’s fastest was David Osment, who clocked 3hours 43mins 11sec.
Then came Scott Huntley with 3.53.51, Liz Roberts 4.17.02, Jeanette Hardiman 4.23.26 and bringing up the rear John Gorham with 4.32.49.
Meanwhile, Wiltshire county selections for the south west regional championships on Sunday January 4 at Exeter, include scores of Salisbury athletes.
Taking part are under 13s’ Abigail Burn, pictured, Louise Webb and Rose Warren, under 15 girl Tasha Mundell, under 15 boys Fabrice Webb and Josh Shuter, under 17 runner Jay Domoney, under 20 ladies Alex Mundell, Emma Clarke and Hermione Seymour, senior lady Sarah Warren and senior men Ben Brewster and Tom Cummings.
