FRUITFUL opening partnership between Will Sleeman and Rich Barnett (34) provided the platform for Shrewton to secure a second Hampshire League County Division One win over Bournemouth II, who they narrowly beat by eight runs.
Sleeman made the day's top score of 74 and, after Barnett's dismissal, held Shrewton's innings together as Phil Choudhary (4-26) and veteran Robert Coombs (3-29) made significant inroads.
Shrewton's 185 appeared under threat as Jonny Coombs (42), Alex Kennedy (21) and Serang Uranker (25) put Bournemouth in the driving seat.
But wickets tumbled before Bournemouth's tail wagged.
Chris Haniff (30) looked capable of winning it for the visitors but was run out to leave Bournemouth 177 all out with three overs to go.
