IT was a wasted trip for Redlynch and Hale on Saturday after their clash at Hook & Newnham lost out to torrential rain.

Ian Tanner’s men covered 120 miles without playing a single ball.

However, due to results going their way, they remain the leaders in County Division 3 (North).

In Regional Div 3 (north west), the 3rd XI bowled out OT's & Romsey 5th XI for 219, with Pat Menage run out for 57 and 44 from Max Costley.

Dom Sell took 2-44 and Colin Eveleigh 2-25 with first wickets for the club for Rhys Higgins 2-38 and Gary Church, 2-3. Graham Smith (25) and Andy Church (31) posted 76 for the first wicket, but no one else was able to keep up the momentum. Aujula 4- 17 did most of the damage and although Ewan Tanner hit a cameo 18 towards the end, the visitors were bowled out for 141 in the 41st over.

Team of the weekend went to under 13s, who declared New Milton 107 all out, posting 132-6, with Guy Lucas (32) and Harry Northway (31) both retiring not out.

In the New Forest Colts league, the team continued its good run accounting for OT’s & Romsey, whose 98-6 was not enough to overcome 104-8, as skipper George Hayes was 27 not out.

The under 15s had hope when Harvey Boardman's 5-17 restricted Langley Manor to 92-8, but only Ollie Kaye (26) found any form with the bat as the youngsters were stopped on 63-8.

Despite a hard-hitting 25 from Jon Castleton, the under 11s (243-9) were well beaten by Ot's & Romsey, who had reached 296-3.

And the under 9s ( 250-3) lost by a single run as Wellow & Plaitford reached 251-5 in the final frantic over, despite three wickets for Ben Wordley.
