LANCE Harwood’s big hitting 182 saw Dinton ease to victory over Holybourne in County Division 4 North.

Early signs didn’t look great for the hosts as Holybourne dismissed Lawrence Hannaford for four off the third ball.

However, the partnership of Harwood and Ben Coombes stood strong, with Harwood peppering the boundary at will, as the pair brought up their 50 in the ninth over.

It didn’t take long for them to reach their hundred as Harwood smashed his was to his second century of the season.

The duo knocked-up 169 runs before Coombes was finally dismissed for 35 runs.

Skipper Andy O’Neill join Harwood at the crease, quickly hitting his to a second half century on the bounce, the double act set about adding a further 138 runs.

Harwood was closing in on a record breaking double century only to be caught with 182 runs to his name, leaving Hoylbourne a massive target of 347.

With a daunting task ahead of them, Holybourne got off to a woeful start as the visitors could only make 47 for five.

The resilient pairing of Josh Cunningham and Xavier Bochereau added a further 50 runs before Hannaford and Steve Palmer removed the pair.

It was left to Coombes to clear the final wicket and seal a comprehensive 208 run triumph.

The seconds helped their fight to avoid the drop after securing a 66-run win over Thruxton.
