A SUPREMELY disciplined bowling performance provided Farley with a five-wicket win at local rivals Winterbourne.

The home side elected to bat first, but Theo Bossom and Dan Jackson gave the Winterbourne openers nothing to pounce on. Jackson removed Matt Windows early and trimmed Jamie Harvey's off bail.

Craig Johnson (37) and Manny Gurung (35) consolidated before Paul Roberts removed them both. Ramsey (2-43) kept up the pressure at the other end, aided by outstanding fielding by Glanvill and Lewis Wakeford. Late blows for Alistair Byrne (44 not out) brought 33 runs from the last three overs to help Winterbourne finish on 169-7.

In reply, Farley lost Simon Wakeford early but Mike Covill and BJ Cole provided a brisk start. The flight of Ed Dadd and variation of Chris Breeze brought the breakthrough and slowed the rate, meaning Farley added15 runs in 10 overs. But the experienced heads of Covill and Andy Coveney rode out the tight spell before beginning to dominate. Covill reached his fourth consecutive 50 and was bowled by Cunningham with just 30 needed to win, which Farley got.
