DINTON seconds' great escape plan suffered a setback as they rolled over to a second straight defeat as they paid the price for failing to take a solitary wicket at high-flying Overton.

Put into bat first, Dinton's openers succumbed to balls that kept low on a damp crease.

And the conditions got the better of the visitors on 47, skipper Rich Cridge departing on 28 as Bown (2-23) got one to nip back through Cridge’s defence.

This sparked a collapse as the visitors lost the last eight wickets for just 25 runs in 11 disastrous overs.

Gray did most of the damage finishing with figures of 5-5.

Simon Rawlins was the only other batsman to reach double figures, striking stubbornly for 13 overs but he was powerless to prevent his side being dismissed for just 72.

The captains decided to spin straight round and take tea at the end of the game. Overton's openers were clearly hungry as they set about chasing down the small total in a hurry. Dinton's bowlers seemed unable to extract the assist from the dry pitch as there opposite numbers had.

The total was reached inside ten overs, with all wickets still intact. Clark finishing 40 not out and Dunesby 30 not out.
