WINTERBOURNE picked up maximum points with a 109-run victory away to Langley Manor III.

A slight change was made to the usual batting line-up and Craig Johnson joined Matt Windows at the top of the order.

The openers made a steady start and kept the scoreboard ticking over at around four runs an over.

The new opening partnership put on 82 runs for the first wicket as Windows was bowled for 39. Richard Johnson fell for 16 but the visitors were handily placed at 126-2 off 24 overs

Craig Johnson fell nine runs short of a half century and Chris Breeze joined Jamie Harvey as the pair put on 63 runs before Harvey was caught for 44, and Breeze followed soon afterwards for 32. Mike Fiddy hit a quick 14 at the end to help boost the score to a useful 225-6. Rogers was pick of the bowlers with 2 for 41.

Breeze struck in his second over to remove Potten for a duck and after a suicidal run out in the tenth over, the home team were struggling on 14 for 2.

Nick Fiddy and Richard Johnson were brought into the attack and, after a terrible first over, Fiddy soon found his length and took a wicket in each of his next three overs to leave Langley Manor on 81 for 6 at the halfway point. Johnson struck with the penultimate ball of his first over as yet another catch was taken cleanly.

And when Nick Lawrence was brought back on at the death he firstly removed Rogers for 66 and then cleaned up the final two tail-enders to finish with three wickets for seven runs.
