WINTERBOURNE secured promotion into County Division Four with a comfortable eight-wicket win at home to Damerham.

The opening bowlers of Chris Warde (2-16) and Joe Cunningham both bowled excellent spells, with Warde picking up the wicket of John Horne in his fourth over, caught by Breeze at slip.

He bowled two consecutive wicket maidens as Ben Bealey followed for a duck.

With Damerham 17 for 2 off nine overs, it was looking like Winterbourne were going to run through the batting order with ease, but skipper Henry Gilbert and Simon White put up some stubborn resistance.

White eventually fell for 10 in the 19th over, giving Ed Dadd his only wicket. They closed on 156-5 with 74 runs coming from the final eight overs.

In reply, Winterbourne lost an early wicket when Jamie Harvey fell for 10 in the fourth over, but from then on it was plain sailing as Matt Windows and Craig Johnson put on 70 runs for the second wicket as they won by 10 overs to spare.
