AFTER half-centuries from Seth Loader and Will Alvis had given Hyde a challenging total, Jason Cooper and Alan Cousins gave Godshill a great chance before wickets tumbled and they lost by 15 runs.

Hyde posted 212-6 mainly through Loader (53), Alvis (52 no) and Rob Morey (39) with Matt Robb (3-33) and Cooper (2-46) the main wicket takers.

Godshill were put in the driving seat by Cooper (93) and Cousins (26) who put on 141 for the first wicket but no one else was able to maintain the momentum and, with Will Hayward taking 4-43, they were restricted to 197-9.

Breamore skittled Exbury out for just 85 in the 34th over at The Marsh. Paul Veit took 3-17 and then Steve Marlow (35) and Veit (17) set up the home side’s five-wicket win in the 25th over.

Ringwood’s unhappy season continued as they were rolled over for just 67 at Damerham and lost by ten wickets.

It was Steve Osborne, playing in his first match, who did much of the damage.

Even though Ringwood 2nds had conceded their match, the first team had only nine men but they looked set for a reasonable score at 42-2 through Alex Gould (17) and Craig Seymour and Kellar Holland with 11 apiece.

Having played several seasons with ex-pat and Asian players in Italy, Osborne has moved into the Damerham area and his debut bowling produced 6-12 to remove Ringwood in a short spell of 28 overs.

Damerham took ten overs to win through openers Joel Horne (37 no) and Simon White (16 no).
