Hampshire League – Regional Division 1 West

BREAMORE maintained their excellent start to the season with a resounding eight -wicket victory over Lyndhurst and Ashurst at The Marsh.

Tom Marlow (4-10) and Paul Veit (2-5) gave the visitors the most trouble as they surrendered for 73 in the 36th over. After two wickets went down, Shaun Marlow (25 no) steered them towards victory with the rate increased by Phil Lacey, who hit three fours and a six in a quick-fire unbeaten 22, as Breamore won within 22 overs.

At the other end of the table are Hyde who are without a win and despite posting a challenging score, they lost to unbeaten New Milton 3rds at Fernhill Sports Ground.

Will Hayward (41) and Jim Kinnison (29) were the mainstays of the Hyde innings but it was evergreen Mike Shutler (36), batting at number 11, who enabled them to post 195-9 and he shared in an unbeaten last wicket stand with Jack Renshaw.

New Milton were kept in the hunt by Luke Mortimer (46) and although Shutler claimed 3-45, they won by five wickets.

Godshill have been unable to replicate their start to last season when they won their first six games and they are still without a victory after losing to Winton 2nds by 62 runs.

Winton’s 229-6 (Dave Dawkins 3-38) was too much for Godshill who were bowled out for 167 in the 40th over and once Jason Cooper (78) and Matt Robb (29) were out, they lost their last four wickets for ten runs.

Damerham were completely undone by Bournemouth 4ths who trounced them by 127 runs after Tom West (110) and Harry Weal (54) had taken them to 222-3.

Henry Gilbert followed his 2-30 by top scoring with 29, but his only support came from Tim O’Donnell (19) as Damerham were removed for 95 in the 38th over.
