Hampshire League – other regional divisions

HYDE 2nds are in stark contrast to their first team as they maintained their unbeaten record in Regional Division 3 West after beating Sway 3rds by 107 runs at home.

John Chitty (78), Steve Turner (72) and Tim Broomfield (68) were all in fine form as Hyde notched up 258-6 and then Will Roe took 3-20 as Sway were dismissed for 151 in the 36th over.

Opener Eric Pearson (40) top scored for Verwood 2nds and supported by Simon Jordan (33), took his side to 153-6 at Potterne Park. Paul Webster (4-23), Eric Pearson (2-14) and Mike Jolliffe (3-20) had Bashley (Rydal) IV out for 82 in 27 overs.

At home to New Milton IV, Burley 2nds lost two wickets, including Ray Gunn (17), for 37 but then Alex Martin (66) shared in stands of 65 for the third wicket with Peter Stacey (28) and 88 for the fourth with Jim Burry (13) before Wayne Tucker chipped in with 26 and they finished on 202-6.

New Milton’s reply was based around Justin Connor (95) and Harry Enalls (31) and then Liam Miller hit an unbeaten 24 as they won by three wickets in the 41st over with Tucker (3-31) the best of the bowlers.

Alderholt skipper Steve Willoughby (77) was in form again and, supported by Guy Andrew (55), took his side to 216-2 when they visited Beaulieu in Regional Division 2 West.

Having removed two of Beaulieu’s wickets, Alderholt had no more success as the home side won by eight wickets in 40 overs through Matt Pooley (76 no) and Cliff Bannell (54 no).

Ringwood lost their unbeaten record when they were dismissed for 90 at the Turnpike Recreation Ground and then Totton and Eling 3rds won by eight wickets.

In Regional Division 4 South West Ellingham IV progressed to 225-5 thanks to Tim Mussellwhite (75) and Brian New (63) and then Luke New (3-35) and Hilton Harvey (3-30) restricted Sway IV to 161-9 at Pennington.
