HYDE 2nds young spinner Alex Kang claimed a hatful of wickets as his side trounced Whiteparish 2nds by 67 runs in Regional Division 3 West.

John Chitty (59) and Steve Turner (39) top scored in Hyde’s 163-8 and then Whiteparish were undone for 96 in the 31st over by Kang (7-30) and Tim Broomfield (2-24) as the visitors retained their unbeaten record at the top of the table.

Simon Jordan (3-25) and Mike Jolliffe (3-43) helped Verwood 2nds restrict Fawley 3rds to 141-9 at the Waterside Sports Club and then Robbie Armstrong (48) and Paul Webster (42) set up their five-wicket victory.

Burley 2nds travelled to Bramshaw 3rds at Nomansland Green where they went down by 17 runs. After slumping to 29-3, Stu Stickland (67) and Vince McMahon (61) added 99 for the fourth wicket as the home side reached 236-7.

Burley’s openers Martin Rapson and Alex Martin hit 79 off the first 11 overs but spinners Stickland (3-22) and Dan Eckton (2-29) applied the brakes and with Ian Loveless taking 2-13 at the death, Burley were stopped at 219-9.

There was no joy for Ellingham 3rds who were rolled over for just 48 chasing a Brockenhurst 2nds’ total of 259-4 at Balmer Lawn.

Despite only having nine men, Ringwood still managed a comprehensive 104-run victory over Steeple Langford in Regional Division 2 West at the Carvers.

Mark Brockway (21) and Richard Percy (17) scored Ringwood’s early runs but it was Dave Butcher (42 no) and Nick Ashman (37) who lifted them to 169-5.

This was far too much for the visitors who were held in check by Kellar Holland (5-10 from 10 overs) and Tim Melbourne and then Russell Thomas sorted out the tail with four wickets as the visitors surrendered for 65.

Alderholt opener Tom Morris is back from injury and he carried his bat for an unbeaten 52 but received little support as his side was stopped at 141-9 by Dorset Indians who won by five wickets with Harry Morris taking 3-32.
