TIM O’Donnell carried his bat for a fine unbeaten century and set up Damerham’s five-wicket victory when they visited Shrewton 2nds.

Shrewton were held in check by tight bowling especially from Dean Jarvis (2-12) and at drinks they had reached only 63-1. Chris Newbury (46) was the only batsman to show any real form as the home side were stopped at 161-7, Henry Gilbert taking 3-53.

Damerham lost an early wicket but O’Donnell was soon on the attack, sharing in stands of 76 for the second wicket with Hacon Edgley (15) and 51 for the fifth with Jimmy Vincent (18).

He hit a six and ten fours in his unbeaten 119 as Damerham won in 31 overs.

Hyde beat East Christchurch by six wickets with their skipper, Chris Shutler, hitting a half-century but he said that it was not much of an achievement as the visitors only had seven players.

Openers Ben Brass (102) and Chris Handley (56) made sure that the visitors played out their full overs as they put on 140 for the first wicket in a total of 206-4.

Lewis Ball (39) and Rob Morey (30) made Hyde’s early runs and then Shutler (52 no) saw them home in 34 overs.

Godshill were guilty of dropped catches, including three in succession, as they allowed Mudeford to amass 242-4 mainly through Oliver Nicholls (81) and Shaun Kelly (51) with Jason Cooper (2-35) the main wicket taker.

Godshill were never in contention and finished on 166-8 with Cooper (30), Chris Houghton (29) and Alan Pollard 926) the main scorers.

Breamore’s batting let them down when they visited Sway 2nds but they made their opponents work hard for their three-wicket victory.

With only Harry Northway (30) making headway, Breamore stuttered from 25-4 to 41-5 against Simon Naylor (5-21) and it was left to Tony Goodwin (17) and his son Tom (15) to get them to 115.

Alan Bennett (10-7-6-3) kept Sway in check alongside Tom Marlow (2-18) and they were a long way from home at 68-6 before Vic Falso (23 no) edged them past the post in the 39th over.
