Hampshire League – Regional Division 1 West

BREAMORE’S skipper Shaun Marlow scored another half-century as his side won by six wickets when they visited Bransgore 2nds.

Put into bat, Bransgore were pegged down by the opening Breamore attack especially Alan Bennett (10-9-2-2) and, after 19 overs, they had made just 19-2.

A revival was staged by Balsom (35) and Kelvin Finch (31), who trebled the score in the next six overs, and then Jason Robertson (47 no) and Butler (22 no) shared in an unbeaten fifth wicket stand that pushed the home side’s total to 177-4.

Breamore started cautiously against Biggs (3-31) and Mellor and after eight overs were floundering at 24-3. Shaun Marlow (50) and Phil Lacey (45) steadied the ship with a fourth wicket stand of 78 and then Ali Barter (29 no) steered the visitors home in the 38th over.

Godshill maintained their change of fortunes with a seven-wicket win when they visited New Milton 3rds at the Fernhill Sports Ground.

Alan Pollard took 1-15 from his 10 overs that held New Milton in check and, with only Peter Wakefield (30) and Hussey (22) showing any form against Neil Fotheringham (3-25) and Dave Dawkins (2-19), they were restricted to 120-8.

Jason Cooper (58 no) and Tom Cranmer (27) put on 56 for Godshill’s second wicket as they reached their target in the 27th over.

Damerham made sure of a comfortable seven-wicket victory when they entertained Mudeford 2nds and their skipper Henry Gilbert hit a six to win the match and gain an extra bonus point.

With only Sean Kelly (36) showing any resistance against Steve Osborne (4-11) and Gilbert (3-9), Mudeford were rolled over for 86 in the 39th over.

Ten overs were lost to rain so Damerham had a reduced target of 72 off 32 overs. After slumping to 32-3, Gilbert (39 no) and Dean Jervis (15 no) shared in an unbeaten fourth wicket stand of 43 as the home side won at 75-3 inside 19 overs.

Although there were no major scores in the Hyde innings, the top order batted well enough to enable their side to beat visitors Exbury by 36 runs.

There were 30 runs apiece from Rob Morey, Lewis Ball and Peter Hayward and then Will Hayward (33) and Steve Turner (29 no) made useful contributions that took Hyde to 181-6.

Exbury were never really in the hunt and with Ned Thomas (2-26) and Ben Daniels (2-22) leading the Hyde attack, they were stopped well short on 145-8.
