A VILLAGE cricket club has accumulated £10,000 in donations from one generous estate agent.
McKillop & Gregory has been giving Chalke Valley Cricket Club £250 from each house sale made in the Valleys over the past six years.
The sum was reached following the sale of The Old Vicarage, Bowerchalke - a house situated next to the Butts Field cricket ground.
The donations have been used to help with the provision of facilities that enable both senior and junior players to enjoy cricket.
Chalke Valley play in the Dorset Division 5 Saturday League, and this season were crowned champions.
They also compete in the Old Sarum Invitation League Twenty20.
Chairman Jamie Holland said: “All of us at Chalke Valley Cricket Club are hugely indebted to the incredible generosity of McKillop & Gregory. Running any sports club is an expensive operation and not least a cricket club with a large ground and facilities that need constant attention."
David McKillop, senior partner of McKillop & Gregory, said: “We hope our support will help the club to give both senior and junior players an opportunity to play the game and enjoy the fun and excitement that cricket provides to all who play and watch the game."
